Progress on all fronts....

It's been a while, hasn't it?  bad blogger...hahahaha   i have been in the studio in little chunks at a time....3 hours or so. but working on a dozen different things. Also doing some outside work before it gets too awfully cold. things on the crafty front include:

Now, when will those blocks become a quilt?  who knows...hopefully soon.

Lampshade...if you have a dog....it's a good guess that he/she has worn one of these at one time or another...ours has. they are so pitiful. hahahaha

Then there is a small quilt that is for our quilt group. it's our challenge for Christmas...to embellish it. my first challenge was to get the top together. but i am almost there. finish the red border and 1 more border then the fun begins.

Then there is my UFO Challenge quilt for this month. Ooyyyy...hardly any of this was done. i did many paper pieced blocks. the center didn't become what i envisioned at first...but there really isn't time. so i am faking it and putting together what i have. i surely hope this will be done by the end of the month. i haven't missed a monthly challenge yet for this year or last.  cross your fingers  ....  X

I need 20 more of these log cabin blocks for the top and bottom border....then another couple borders. i'm trying to get about queen size but don't think that will happen. after the log cabins i'm at 60 inches square. it MIGHT make 90 inches.

And, lastly, trying to get this customer quilt done so i can get mine on there when it is ready to go. I have all the SID done...now need to outline the leaves and fill in that background. i have a plan...just need to execute.

Waiting for the studio to warm up some before i start the longarm. it doesn't like the cold and it was 57 degrees in here this morning. after the furnace cycles me up to about 67 degrees i can quilt. in the meantime, i'll embroider another vet block or two and see if i can finish up the borders on that fir tree.

Cabin Cats #3....Log Cabin

The Cabin Cats had to have a log cabin block. well....a log cabin quilt.  because i used the pictures in the middle of the blocks and wanted them to stay upright....i could not make some fancy-dancy design with the blocks. so it is just a plain setting. but i guess that is a bit unusual in itself since you hardly ever see that.

This is just the top...not quilted yet. once i have all the Cabin Cats tops completed...then i will quilt them all up.

I actually meant to make 20 blocks but somehow made 30....i swear....i think my mind is just gone. so this got a bit larger than i intended.

The first border is the blue cats then the last border is the fabric with all the designs.....the lines with the baskets, cats, and all the rest.

I really like all these fabrics together. this came out to be 80 x 92" and used 7.25 yards of fabric.
