Elephants

One more for today....a 15" square of elephants. i did some outlining and cross-hatched the outer border...done.  just need to sew down the hanging sleeve.  

There was a pattern of grid work in the border, so it was easy to follow the lines to cross hatch. It's a dark green but my studio really sucks on light once the sun is gone. we had a bit of rain today, so it is all cloudy.

The back is a black and gray print, batik.

I'm going to load something for tomorrow, then i am done for today, i am tired. got to go home and chill for a bit and then sew down 2 hanging sleeves. 

Which Way is Up? IV

OK...I think this is the last arrow quilt. I wanted to do red, white and blue....and i wanted to do selvages....so I combined the two. I sort of revamped her pattern, though, and kept the parts I liked. after all....it's all about the arrows. haha

Arrows are selvages....rest is various whites/creams

It always amazes me what i see in a picture that i don't see as i am working....this blue arrow shaft is more white than blue.

And we know this piece of fabric is 17 years old. 

Unless I come up with some unusual idea, i think i am done with this pattern. it was extremely fun. 

Now, back to my regularly scheduled work...flea market merchandise. hahaha

My son made a light....

....and he says it spins.   it is so totally cool....and i want it.

i told him we won't have to go to the flea market.....i'll just buy all his stuff. hahaha

It looks like it's about 3 foot tall.....probably heavy.

Burlap Halloween

This was pieced in October, 2015, so i guess that is when i got the burlap fabric.....at JoAnns.  i dug out all my Halloween fabrics and used them all to put this together....a little bit of everything. It is 60x70"

Sewed through the burlap without a hitch

I never could figure out what to do with this fabric, so i'm happy it found a home in this quilt.

This back is everything left over sewn together. haha

And there was an extra block for the back, too.

Threads were Glide bright yellow and Signature variegated called Poppy Blaze. 

Pattern was a maze from Quiltazoid.

I made myself finish it all today, so it will go in the flea market pile. i need a nap. i woke up at 4:30  and am wearing down.

More table toppers and such

Yesterday I accomplished one wall hanging and four table toppers...or place mats...or whatever. haha

Harvest Welcome

I had to fill the empty corner with something, so a spider web seemed the thing to do

I have another set of these. don't know if i'll do them. 

Flea Market Merchandise

A couple days ago my son asked me if i wanted to go with him when he was vending at a weekend flea market....18th and 19th....of THIS month. i said sure..that would be fun.  he said...why don't you bring some of your stuff, too. oh, hmmmm, ok....so, i technically have 11 days to get stuff together. i pulled out some panels and did some binge quilting. if you stay off the computer...don't play with the embroidery machine...don't piece arrow blocks....and FOCUS.....you can get some quilting done. haha

This is what i have so far.

Crazed cats...i have another panel of these that I will try to do, too.

Happy Halloween.  I'm thinking it is close enough to the holiday that maybe someone needs a decoration.

These four were all one panel. i quilted them all and then cut them into 4. i like them better individually.

Now, back to work.....much more to do. haha

My Sister's Hearts

This top was pieced by my sister. she hand stitched all those hearts to the little blocks....twice....around the edge, and then inside about 1/4".

It is 69" square.

I did SID around the blocks and the hearts, and went inside the heart, too. i went across the rows continuously.

In the red border i did a meander with large hearts echoed.

The blue border got a large meander with little hearts throughout.

The back is a cranberry color....more like it shows on the left of the pic. the flash of the camera lightened it up a lot.

Top thread was Glide Chestnut; bobbin was So Fine dark brown.

I'll take it back to her next week...at least i don't have to bind this one. haha
