Over the River and Through the Woods

This lovely quilt was pieced by my friend, Carole, and she has waited several months for me to get it finished for her. It is 52x56"  I started and did about 6 or 7 geese in the corner....and realized the tension was all off.....arrrggghhh!!....ripping.  after ripping, i decided to try again the next day. tightened up the tension and off we went....perfectly. i hate when that happens.

I used Glide white for the pictures

I just went around some things to hold everything together

59d9659b4392f_pic2.jpg.b9882ee2bb5e13854d19b19a366c11e4.jpg

And did some swirlies

I used Glide Chestnut for the rest...mostly SID...some curves inside the blocks

SID, curves and a squiggly thing in the geese.

The back doesn't show anything. So Fine light brown thread matched perfectly.

I'll get it back in the mail to Carole on Monday and she'll have it ready to hang by Christmas.

North Pole

These blocks were done on the embroidery machine....applique and embroidery. It took almost 2 years to finish it up. I started it in Jan, 2016....finished embroidery and piecing in July, 2017....and finally got it finished.

It is 47" square

front.jpg.5942bbfe9fbdf44b3a19e98fd9c147f0.jpg

I like the border fabric. It is all shiny and sparkly. Although it looks like glitter, it is not....it is silver dots printed on the fabric....much better and cleaner than glitter.

corner.jpg.e73139af0a3631c2dd6e001603b5b2ba.jpg

I like how the horizon of the landscape all matches....no matter how you set the blocks.

1.jpg.f1734cbf09ffb2b1b59ba216e460d05a.jpg

The snow and sky were appliqued down first...then the rest. good thing I put all the fabrics i was using in a box together...so they would all match.

2.jpg.ab93dcb064b4216c5ff5f35bd6976b8e.jpg

There is some pretty dense embroidery, but as long as i went a bit slower, i had no trouble quilting through it. and there were several layers of fabric.

Their detail is very nice....excellent digitizing.

The back is a flannel with snow covered trees....works well with this.

Fall Table Runner, reversible

This little piece was in my Sharon pile of fabrics. Looks like she might have been trying something scrappy and decided she didn't like it. She is not a scrappy type person. haha    But...I am.

One Block Wonder blue and white

This is my UFO #6 from Judy Laquidara's UFO Challenge for October. I had about 35 blocks finished. why...oh, why....do i ever think i will make a quilt with these?  i think i might have started one about 3 times now. i really need to quit this foolishness.

So, it became a table runner. i still have enough to make one more runner. using them all would have made it too long. i might have to just trash the rest of them.  sigh!!

It is 17x28"

front.jpg.164254a370e17fa85fc4850ca0f56399.jpg

I did SID around everything
