My Favorite Shoes are Boots

I am embroidering shiny mylar boot blocks....with Wrangler fabric that I found at a thrift store for background. The quilt will be named My Favorite Shoes are Boots.  

So far, I have finished 3 blocks.

You can't tell in the pics, but the mylar makes them shine and sparkle.

Good Vibrations

I love it when a top is just one piece to cut and it goes together quickly. This is called Good Vibrations and was a pattern in a mailing piece to subscribe to American Patchwork and Quilting magazine.

I can see this in a lot of different colorways. might be another one i want to make more than once.

Funky Snowmen Friends

This little pattern came in my inheritance from my friend, Sharon. It is a bit strange, but i like it....i guess because I am strange myself. haha

It is 36 x 41"  It is fused applique.

The pattern had the snowmen in plaids, so i actually followed the pattern. 

I matched threads to fabrics, so quilting is hard to see. i decorated his tie.

The border and the back is the same red and gray flannel.

Threads used were Glide Ruby, Cobalt, White, Sand, and Jade. Bobbin was Bottom Line Taupe.

I seem to be in a black phase. I finished up this top yesterday. need to go find something a bit more lively and colorful to do next. haha

Snow Globe Christmas table runner

This table runner features Santa....and a lot of red fabric.

It is 16 x 39"". Blocks done on the embroidery machine.

I had a wild red print to use for sashing and border

The backgrounds are all the same mottled gray but the camera messes them up

I quilted lines on the graphic border and sashing; and, curls in the backgrounds

Finished piecing a couple of tops

Hubby was out hunting for a few days, so i decided to finish up some tops that had been languishing.....very close to finished.

These are just pieced, not quilted yet.

First there is Midnight. a pattern in a magazine...queen size. the magazine had the size 85x105 and i thought that was a narrow size, so i made mine 95x105...more queen size. cut little rectangles 3x5 1/2....large black rectangles 5 1/2 x 15......and sew for days and days. haha

Then, i was trying to use up some black selvages. this used a lot....but not enough...that dang black selvage box is still full.  i don't know how that is possible.

All have a red stripe in the middle. in the middle blocks i used selvages without the white section; then, in the border i used the selvages with the white part. 8" blocks. it is about 60x75"

A Blah, Blah, Blah selvage....i loved that fabric.

And, every quilt needs some zombies....right? 

Today i guess it's back to quilting table runners for eBay and finding something else to take to the house to piece in the evenings.

I quilted up a few things for eBay lately....table runners and wall hangings and such.

There is actually a vinyl piece to make the 'globe'. 

Red, white and blue stars

My sister pieced this top and I quilted it for her. She has a red, white and blue theme going on her stairway and I THINK this one is going to hang over the banister upstairs....or it might hang on the wall...not sure.

It is 75" square

All the blue blocks got beige stars

And the red blocks got white stars. I like the way she reversed the stitching colors on the stars for the different blocks.  I was half way through quilting it before I noticed that. haha   I am bad about noticing things. 

I used a panto called Velvet Queen by Beany Girl Quilts

The back is a paisley.....the thread matches, so the quilting doesn't really show.

Top got Glide Ruby thread; bobbin was Bottom Line Cream.

It will get delivered next week....after hunting season is over. 

UFO Challenge for October

Judy picked #6 for October...mine was some One Block Wonder blocks. i decided it was never going to become a quilt, so i made a couple table runners.

The first one got cut rectangular...i added a couple borders and then quilted it.

The second one i left the uneven edges and faced it, so i would not have to put a binding on those edges.

I might be over hexies now. but who knows....every few years I keep thinking i want to make one.....i've never made a whole quilt yet. i think i need to give up that dream. haha

But, since I was still in flea market mode in October, I quilted up a lot of stuff.

Flea Market is done for the year....because we have outside booths and they are closed till warmer weather in the spring.  So, now i am working on some more Christmas things like table runners and wall hangings to put on eBay.

It was a pretty productive month. You can get a lot done with a deadline. haha
