Ring of Posies

This was a quilt from my friend, Carole.  she wanted the red stars to be in a circle....and put feathers in the middle. I hope i  matched the vision that she had in her head....it was a job.

I tried to take some pics at an angle so the stitching would show.

This is only 57" square...i would have sworn it was at least 80. haha

I put feathers in one circle and triangles (New York Beauty style) in parts of another circle.

I think the corners are my favorite....maybe because they are small. haha

I gave some thought to feathers on the borders....but went with swags instead.

The back is a Christmas fabric....with glittery stuff....i'm glad i didn't have a problem with that...i was a bit worried. 

Thread was Glide Cork for top...So Fine Gold for the bobbin.

This one took a while....but i only worked on it a few hours at a time....had to come up with how to do it.

What I DIDN'T do .... at the Duck

Well, i spent a few days at the Duck....i worked hard for 3 days....but i don't have much proof.  like my friend Richie says....if there is no picture....it didn't happen. haha  But, by the third day, i was so hot...and tired...and hot...that i sat for a minute to take a break and just that fast decided...i am done here. haha   packed up and left.  got home and realized...there were not pics of things.

What i DID....but don't have a pic of:

.. painted 2 walls of my office...orange.  i am getting ready to hang game boards there.

..glued up a few more game boards to hang...checkers...UpWords...and Keesdrow..(which is word seek backwards)..  i had never heard of UpWords or Keesdrow. 

..Glued more blocks around my front door...they are about a foot taller now on each side. next trip should finish that project.

...Plus my sis came over and finished the tape and bed in the closet/dressing room.  yeah!!

But there are things that i DO have pics of. i have 3 sections of the graffiti wall up that has the boy on the swing.

You know boys have toys all over the yard...he has his truck, his pet snake, and his Indians and soldiers close by...ready to play

His pet rooster is up in the tree...watching him swing

I added some white to the blue sky in places....for clouds

The next section that i will start...on the other side of the wall....is a rainbow. i have it drawn out and painted. brought it home to glue it up

And i did find a few more signs to hang on the dining room wall

Antebellum

The name of this pattern is Antebellum...but my sister calls it the slave quilt. she has been pestering me since i made it....November 3, 2013....to give it to her. she says it would look wonderful hanging on the dining room wall at the beast. i told her she could only have it if she bought an actual quilt rod to hang it on. she is known for nailing her quilts to the wall....or hot gluing them.  sigh!!

So, it got quilted today. i keep telling myself that i should keep it...but i guess i'll give it to her. after all, it's only fabric and thread.

It is 68 x 70"

I used the baptist fan boards from Quiltazoid to quilt it.

Glide Tan thread for the top .... Bottom Line white for the bobbin

The applique is wool felt....appliqued by hand

At least now she can quit whining to me about it. haha   i go down to the Duck next week Thursday, so she'll get it then.
