Shirt Tags

When I cut up shirts, I use everything I can. I saw a quilt on Quilted Twins that used shirt tags and that gave me the block idea and inspiration to make this.

It is 66x70"

Who knew there were so many different brands of shirts

I used a TriRecs ruler to cut the pieces for the blocks. There were a few glitches figuring out which way to lay the ruler and if the fabric should be face up and/or right sides together. i finally got it.

I used all reds that i had enough of a piece to cut a few triangles.

It's a good use of scraps. I cut the label parts 6 1/2" long and however wide i could get. after adding the edges, i trimmed the blocks to 5 x 8 1/2". Used another red that worked and added columns between...then a brown border....then a red and tan border. I hope to quilt it up pretty quickly....in February some time.
