While i was playing with selvages some months ago i created a new selvage block ..... so i made a bunch of them over the weeks and called it a quilt. LOL it's about 60x65"
I sewed colored strips diagonally across the base fabric and then put a border of that color around each block.
I was trying to represent every color...and trying to keep the borders a plain color. sometimes that worked...sometimes not. and some borders are thinner and some wider. no measuring for me.
The sashing is a selvage fabric that someone had printed at Spoonflower and i had to have some. i think selvage dots are a perfect fit for a selvage quilt.
The sashing cornerstones are the same black print as the border.
I pieced the back just because i could and it used up more stash. i see now i should have switched those 2 on the bottom left and i wouldn't have those darks all together. oh, well...it's done now.
I quilted with squiggly lines through the sashing and made an "X" through each block. i did a continuous line across and back....so sometimes the sashing was crossed over twice...sometimes not. i'm ok with that. and did a squiggly loopy thing in the border.
Used the leftovers from the backing for the binding. just had enough...about a foot left over.
King Tut on the top and So Fine in the bottom. used up scraps of batting .... some black...some white. LOL i use up EVERYTHING.
Will add this one to my collection of selvage quilts...probably numbering over a dozen now. i have a black selvage quilt going on the frame next.....i'll show you...

I love this, Shirley. It is so colorful, yet not blinding. I so envy your creativity.
