My alphabet/number quilt is now a top. thanks to my friend, Brenda, who came through for me on the X picture.
The picture blocks are 4 1/2" and the paper pieced letters and numbers are 3 1/2" . adding borders brought them all to 6 1/2".
Every other row is oriented to the opposite direction so the border colors come out the way i want them to.
Occasionally, i had a questionable picture .... or maybe just not an 'easy' picture ..... to go with the letter. like 'numbers' for N. every child needs a challenge, right? hahahhaha will they get the 'quilt' for Q?
Hope they know what peanuts look like...for P. and seashells ...for S. perhaps it will also be an educational quilt.
And moms should like the veggies i snuck in there for V. hahahahaha and just a yellow square for Y (my sis's idea).
Finally decided to just do colored squares for the numbers. keep it simple
I don't like how the 8 turned out and if i use those patterns again i think i will have to re-draft that one.
But, overall, i like how it turned out. have already started on the next alphabet quilt. it will have large blocks for the letters....with lots of things to represent the letter. don't know how that will work when i get to some of the letters....but, we'll see. i'm sure i'll figure something out.
Stay tuned for "C"
