After i got sick of quilting feathers all day....and i'm not done yet....hopefully tomorrow....i decided to do something different.
In the interest of getting all those embroidered blocks into quilt tops.....today i pieced the Circus. applique, done on the embroidery machine. sorry for the lousy picture....it was dark in the studio.
There were lots of clowns. I noticed there was a lot of orange and purple in the squares...so that is how i got orange sashing and a purple border. circus colors...right?
Another cute clown and a seal
The ringmaster was adorable. and the clown coming out of the cannon is priceless. and every circus has an elephant.
And you have to have a lion, too. and, of course, a tumbling clown.
They are 10" blocks....my favorite size. so this is about 38x50. the background is a light purple stripe and i will bind it with that same fabric...with the stripe going the opposite direction.
It now is marinating in the to-be-quilted cabinet. this won't be quilted...
tomorrow
hahahahaha
