Little Devils

I don't go down in the basement of my studio too much....damp down there. but i do store things on the stair landing....ladder, mops, broom, etc. yesterday i went down to check on the breaker box since the furnace quit working.

Imagine my surprise to find my mops gone....

Only stubs remained....

Even the dust mop was massacred...only half left.

These were hanging on the wall.....but the ends of them were even with a little ledge that went around the wall. i'm thinking a mouse or rat was roaming the ledge and found the mops and thought what a good nest they would make.

The only place they could hide in the basement is behind the water heater and well pump. and there were mouse/rat droppings in front of there....so my best guess is they are living in that corner. i couldn't really see back there and didn't really want to get too close.

The water heater and well pump are setting on concrete blocks....which have holes in them. so, i'm thinking there are nice nests back there in those holes of the blocks. shoot....they probably got a condo started. 

Guess i need to set some traps down there.  and go to the dollar store and get another mop. LOL  and perhaps check the basement more often. and fix that broken window. hahahaha

Evil little devils.....i'll get them.....
