More dried foods

Dehydrating foods when you are trying to eat properly might not be a good thing to do. it gives the whole house a smell of food. yesterday was sweet potatoes. they had been marinated in soy sauce and olive oil for a couple hours first. when i put them in the dehydrator....i picked out the broken pieces, cooked them in the toaster oven and ate them. they were delicious. hubby didn't care for them.....more for me.

I also have done...

2 Granny Smith apples....half with cinnamon and sugar. learned to put the sugar on BEFORE putting them on the dehydrator trays....or you will be washing sugar off of it when done.

4 pears

1 whole pineapple.  i put some of these in Crescent rolls this morning....delicious. it didn't matter if i put them in dry or re-hydrated them first. they tasted the same.

2 lbs. strawberries. gonna try these in Crescent rolls next.

5 tomatoes. i need some good, red garden tomatoes.

I got some applesauce to try a fruit leather. and am going to do some cabbage and potatoes. then we will have all the ingredients for Jim soup.

Now i am checking pantries at the house to decide where to store all these goodies. i think i need to re-arrange some things to make use of space. will do that today...or maybe...

tomorrow
