Zipper Flowers

While looking through some art quilt magazines the other day, I came across something I have wanted to try for a while. So, I found some funky fabric in the stash and cut enough for 12 blocks.

Here is the first one. I call them zipper flowers. I have boxes of zippers that I want to use for something....so, this helps that endeavor.

The block is 9x12. I have boxes of buttons and beads and 'stuff', so I dug around a bit for this 'bud'. the leaves are fabric fused to craft foam.

This flower is fabric folded over with batting inside. I sewed it down with the sewing machine and then tacked it down by hand a bit, too.

It will make a funky wall hanging for the studio. it makes me smile.
